« BeatMaker 2 »

BeatMaker 2 was originally a well regarded iPhone app, but now it is universal and looks great on the iPad. The sampler instruments are packed full of features to get the sound you want. See a full review here. It supports iTunes and PasteBoard importing, but consider using Hokusai with this to get your samples in from AudioCopy sources.

Fantastic, very easy to learn, more built in samples would be nice but that doesn't stop this from being a quality app.

I really appreciate the more minimalist design that stops things from getting cluttered.

I would love to know how this compares against Nanostudio and FL which i have not tried yet.

BM2 is a really great iOS DAW. It's incredibly stuffed with features, and its sample manipulation is second to none. If you work with sampled sounds a lot, there's no other iOS DAW that can compete with BM2.

While it doesn't have a built-in synth like NanoStudio, importing samples created with other iOS synths is easy enough, and the sampler synth in BM2 is flexible. Recording performances in iOS synth apps will become much easier when BM2 receives Audiobus support.

BM2 does have its share of bugs and design quirks but the developers release updates consistently and listen to user feedback.

After i chopped some imported samples i started to see the real power of this great daw/sampler.
Chob lab is very powerfull and you can also use this to export slices to use in other music software. In the beginning i hated beatmaker 2 but after a while i started to love it.

Just check you tube.I watched a video of a guy explaining how choblab works. If you have marked the slices in beatmaker you can save them as seperate files or a bm2 preset. You can use itunes file sharing or a wireless connection to copy them to your pc and i believe audio copy/paste is also supported.
